Summary Precipitation Statistics

Oklahoma Climate data are frequently summarized over pre-designated regions know as Climate Divisions. This presentation is more convenient when identifying regional phenomena such as drought. Current Climate Division averages are simple average (day-by-day) of all the available Mesonet Stations within each climate division. Normal precipitation for the designated climate divisions are compiled from monthly normals published by the National Climatic Data Center. In Oklahoma, the nine climate divisions correspond to the nine crop reporting divisions designated by the U. S. Department of Agriculture.
